I a had a few autistic students back when I was a teacher. They loved art and seemed to be able to focus on it constructively. I first made this without the conscious knowledge that, that was what this piece was about. Someone very close to me then saw it and said, "oh my god, you drew this persons mind". After reading about the actual condition I understood how I interpreted the impression he gave me. He was a great student but never spoke and occasionally would flap as if to fly away. I miss those teaching days sometimes...
